About this barrel

Ready to move past mini casks? A 1 gallon American oak bourbon barrel holds about 5 liters, enough to age several bottles of bourbon or rye at once. This new listing includes a wood stand and bung. The title is cut off, so check the description for the other fittings.

Is a 5 liter barrel slower than a 2 liter?

Yes. There's less wood per ounce, so flavor develops more slowly. Many people prefer that because the aging is longer and more even, with less risk of too much oak.

• A good fit for bourbon, rye, rum or a solera-style blend you keep topping up.
• Swell it with water before the first fill.
• The char level isn't given, so confirm it in the listing.
• Your purchase is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
