10L Oak Aging Barrel with Stand Spigot Wooden Whiskey Barrel Wine Barrel 2,5 Gal

About this barrel

A 10L oak aging barrel with stand and spigot sits between fast mini kegs and slow full-size barrels. This new wooden whiskey and wine barrel holds about 2.5 gallons and includes a stand and a spigot for pouring. An independent eBay seller lists it at $109.99.

Is a 10L oak aging barrel the right size for home use?

For many hobbyists, yes. It ages noticeably faster than a 30L barrel but slowly enough to give you time to taste and decide when it's done.

• Swell it with water first and check the spigot for drips.
• It holds about 13 standard 750 ml bottles.
• The listing doesn't give the char or toast level, so ask the seller.
• Use the stand to keep it level and off damp surfaces.
