1 Gallon Oak Aging Barrel Dispenser (5 Liter) with Chalkboard Front, Wood Sta...

About this barrel

The chalkboard front is what sets this 1 gallon oak aging barrel dispenser apart: you can write the spirit, the fill date or a cocktail name right on the head. It holds 5 liters, comes new and sits on a wood stand, ready for a home bar or party table.

How long should spirits stay in a 1 gallon oak aging barrel?

There's no fixed rule. A 5L barrel ages faster than a large cask but slower than a 1L mini, so start tasting after a couple of weeks and bottle when you like the flavor.

• Soak it with water before the first fill so the staves swell tight.
• Check the listing for the char level and whether a tap and bung are included.
• Chalk the start date on the front to track aging time.
• It works for whiskey, rum, tequila, batched cocktails or wine.
