10L Oak Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Wine Barrel 2,5 Gal

About this barrel

A 10L oak aging barrel is a real step up from the minis. It holds about 2.5 gallons, or a little over 13 standard bottles. This new whiskey and wine barrel is listed at $99.99.

How long should whiskey stay in a 10 liter barrel?

Longer than in a mini. Less of the liquid touches the wood, so a 10L cask builds flavor over months instead of weeks. Many hobbyists find this gives a smoother result.

• Fill it with water first and wait for any leaks to stop.
• Check the listing for the char or toast level and what hardware is included.
• Pick a sturdy spot, because the liquid alone weighs over 20 pounds when it's full.
• It also works for small batches of wine, vinegar or beer.
