20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

A 20L vertical oak wine barrel can do several jobs: age a spirit, keep a red wine vinegar going, or simply sit on the bar as rustic decor. This new listing includes a faucet and bracket and is meant for storing whiskey, rum and brandy.

Can I use a 20L oak wine barrel for vinegar after spirits?

Many hobbyists move a well-used spirit barrel to vinegar duty once it stops adding much flavor. Going the other way, from vinegar back to spirits, isn't recommended.

• First step: fill it with water to swell the oak, then drain it once it holds.
• Pacing: mid-size barrels age more slowly than minis, so taste monthly rather than daily.
• Check the listing: char level and hardware details aren't given here.
• Price: $87.89, new, from an independent eBay seller.
