20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

The title calls it a wine barrel, and a 20L oak wine barrel with faucet is a practical way to rest homemade red, fortified wine or a blend before bottling. The seller also lists it for whiskey, rum and brandy.

Is a 20L oak wine barrel with faucet good for home winemakers?

It's a good fit for small-batch winemaking. Twenty liters is a modest batch, and over time oak adds structure and soft wood notes.

• Keep it topped up. Air space in any barrel invites oxidation.
• Fill the new barrel with water before the first use to check for seeps.
• The data doesn't say whether the inside is toasted or charred, and that matters for wine. Check the listing.
• The faucet makes tasting and drawing off wine easy.
