20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

A 20L whiskey barrel with faucet is a serious step up for home aging. This vertical oak model stands upright on its bracket, which puts the spout at pouring height. Twenty liters is about 5.3 gallons, enough to age a full batch of whiskey and pour off a glass whenever you want to check how it's going.

How fast does a 20 liter oak barrel age whiskey?

Slower than a mini barrel, because each ounce of whiskey touches less wood. The change is more gradual, so plan on months and taste as you go.

• Swell the barrel with water before filling and watch the faucet joint for drips.
• The char or toast level isn't listed, so check the seller's description.
• Keep it topped up to limit air space and drying.
• Listed new at $95.50.
