20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

Keeping whiskey, rum or brandy in plain sight is easy with a 20L vertical wooden wine barrel that comes with a faucet and bracket. The bracket holds the new oak barrel upright, and an independent eBay seller lists the set for $95.50.

Is an upright barrel better for storing spirits?

A vertical barrel takes up less counter width than one lying on its side, and the front faucet makes pouring simple. Oak will still flavor what's inside, so think of storage as gentle aging.

• Swell it with water before adding rum, brandy or whiskey.
• Check the photos to see how the bracket attaches and what it's made of.
• Look for a stated char level, and if there isn't one, ask the seller.
• About 5.3 gallons is a lot, so plan a full fill to limit the air space inside.
