20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

Homemade brandy gets much of its depth from time in wood, and a 20L oak brandy barrel gives a batch room to mature slowly. This new vertical oak cask is listed at $95.50. The seller's title says it comes with a faucet and bracket.

What can I age in a 20L oak brandy barrel besides brandy?

The listing names whiskey, rum and brandy. You can also use the same cask for fruit brandies, like applejack or a pear eau-de-vie you'd like to soften.

• Soak the barrel with water before filling so the staves tighten.
• A 20-liter barrel ages more gently than mini sizes, so leave more time between tastings.
• Top it up as liquid evaporates to keep air space low.
• Check the listing for any note on toast or char.
