1.5L Charred Oak Aging Barrel for Whiskey & Bourbon - Visualized Design, Perfect

About this barrel

A 1.5L charred oak aging barrel lets you give whiskey and bourbon some barrel time at home without filling a big cask. This new one is sold by an independent eBay seller. The title mentions a "visualized design," so look at the photos to see what that means here.

How fast does a 1.5L charred oak barrel age whiskey?

Fast. A small barrel puts more wood in contact with each ounce of spirit, so color and flavor build much sooner than in a full-size cask. Taste it often instead of following a fixed schedule.

• Swell it first: fill it with water and let the staves tighten before you add spirit. This helps prevent leaks.
• Char level: the listing says charred but doesn't give a level, so ask the seller if it matters to you.
• Good for: bourbon, rye, rum or barrel-aged cocktails.
• Price: $208.99, listed as new.
