Used Bourbon Whisky Barrel 10 gallon 20.5"x15"

About this barrel

Looking for a used bourbon barrel in the 10 gallon size? This American oak cask measures 20.5" x 15" according to the seller's title, holds about 37.9 liters and is listed at $95.00. Ex-bourbon wood is the classic choice for barrel-aged stouts, porters and spirits that get a second round in oak.

Why buy a 10 gallon ex-bourbon whiskey barrel?

It sits between tiny home kegs and full-size casks. It's big enough for a real batch of beer and small enough to fit in a garage or basement. It also gives faster oak contact than a standard-size barrel.

• Flavor: a former bourbon barrel can add vanilla, caramel and whiskey notes. Check the listing for how recently it was emptied.
• Fit: use the 20.5" x 15" measurements to plan floor or shelf space.
• Prep: if it has dried out, swell it with water before filling.
• Char: the char level isn't stated, so ask the seller if it matters to you.
