1 Gallon Oak Aging Barrel (5 Liter) with Stand, Bung and Spigot - Wooden Mini...

About this barrel

This 1 gallon oak aging barrel comes with what you need to start pouring: a 5 liter cask, a stand, a bung for the top and a spigot for drawing samples. It's listed new at $157.85.

How long does it take to age whiskey in a 5 liter oak barrel?

There's no fixed answer, but small casks work fast. Many home users taste weekly and stop once the color and oak flavor are right, often long before a full-size barrel would be ready.

• Prep: fill it with warm water and let the staves swell until it stops seeping.
• Use it for: whiskey, rum, tequila, wine or homemade vinegar.
• Check: the title doesn't give the char or toast level, so confirm it in the listing.
• Display: the stand lets it rest neatly on a bar or counter.
