20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

A 20L oak whiskey barrel with faucet lets you give a young spirit real time in wood, right on your own counter. This new, vertical 20-liter oak cask is listed at $95.50 by an independent eBay seller. It comes with a faucet and bracket, so you can pour straight from the barrel.

Is a 20L oak whiskey barrel with faucet too big for home aging?

Not if you value patience over speed. Smaller barrels age faster because more of the liquid touches wood. A 20-liter size works more slowly, which gives you more control and less risk of over-oaking.

• Swell the barrel with water before the first fill so the staves seal.
• The char level isn't stated, so check the listing or ask the seller.
• Taste every few weeks and bottle when the flavor suits you.
• Confirm the dimensions in the listing before choosing a shelf.
