About this barrel
Carving, German lettering and a 1902 reference set this vintage carved wooden beer barrel keg on stand apart from plain kegs. An independent eBay seller lists it used at $500. It would be a natural focal point for a beer hall–style bar or den.
What does the German text on this carved beer keg say?
The title doesn't translate it. Ask the seller, or run the photos through a translation app. The wording may hint at what the keg was for or where it came from.
- Ask whether 1902 is carved on the piece or is an estimated date.
- Ask for the overall height with the stand.
- Check the carving for chips and the stand for wobble.
- Ask about any tap hole and the condition of the inside.
It would fit well for Oktoberfest décor or a German heritage collection. It's covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
