Whiskey Wine Barrel, Vintage Reclaimed Used Wood Barrel, Primitive Rum Keg, P

About this barrel

Few pieces bring instant character to a room like a primitive oak rum keg with real age on it. This used, vintage reclaimed barrel is offered by an independent eBay seller for $495, and the listing tags it with the letter P. Expect the kind of patina that only years of handling create, which is exactly why reclaimed barrels work so well as statement decor in a den, tasting room or rustic cabin.

Is a primitive oak rum keg better for decor or for aging?

For most buyers, decor. The listing gives no capacity, char level or leak history, so treat aging as a bonus you'd need to verify with the seller.

• Size: check the listing photos or ask for height and diameter.
• Finish: a clear matte sealer protects old oak indoors without hiding the grain.
• Placement: keep it away from heat vents, which can dry out staves.
• Match: confirm the barrel pictured is the P unit you're buying.
