1 Gallon Wooden Whiskey Barrel, 5 Liter Charred American White Oak Cask

About this barrel

Whether you prefer spirits or wine, this 1 gallon oak barrel is titled as both a wooden whiskey barrel and a wine barrel, with a 5 liter capacity also noted. It's new and priced at $165.03 by an independent eBay seller. The title is cut off, so open the listing to read the full description.

Can one 1 gallon oak barrel handle both whiskey and wine?

It can, but flavors carry over from one fill to the next. Either keep the barrel for one drink or plan the order of your batches.

• Capacity: 1 gallon and 5 liters aren't the same volume, so confirm the actual size.
• Wine does best in a cool, steady spot with the barrel kept full to limit air.
• Swell the staves with water before the first fill.
• Check the photos to see whether a stand, bung or tap is included.
