5L/1.32Gal Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

This small oak barrel holds 5 liters (1.32 gallons) and is listed new by an independent eBay seller. It is aimed at home aging of bourbon, whiskey and wine.

Why pick a small oak barrel for home aging?

Small barrels are easy to store and age liquids faster than large casks. The trade-off is that flavor can turn woody quickly, so taste often.

• Setup: fill with water first so the wood swells and seals.
• Space: a counter or shelf is enough room.
• Missing details: char level, stand and tap are not given, so check the listing.
• Gift idea: works for a home bartender or a first barrel project.
