5L/1.32Gal Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

This bourbon aging barrel is made of oak, holds 5L or 1.32 gallons, and is listed new at $38.88 by an independent eBay seller. It is a wooden barrel for people who want to age spirits at home.

What should I know before using a bourbon aging barrel?

Prepare it properly. A new oak barrel needs to swell with water before filling, and the char level affects how bold the finished flavor turns out.

• Swell the wood first, then drain and fill.
• Check the listing for char level and finish.
• Taste every so often because small barrels age fast.
• Store it in a steady spot away from heat.
