Red Head Barrels 1L Charred Oak Barrel for Whiskey, Rum & Wine

About this barrel

A Red Head Barrels 1L charred oak barrel lets you age whiskey, rum or wine one small batch at a time. One liter is about a bottle and a third of a standard 750 ml spirit, so filling it doesn't take much, and the charred wood starts working right away.

What should I age first in a 1L charred oak barrel?

Many people start with an unaged whiskey or a white rum, because the color change is easy to track. Wine works too, but you'll need to check it more often.

• Cure first: fill it with water until the staves seal.
• Keep it full: an empty barrel can dry out and start leaking again.
• Check the listing: confirm the char level and whether a stand or spigot is included.
• Price: $78.88, new condition per the seller.
