1L Charred Oak Aging Barrel for Whiskey, Rum & Wine

About this barrel

Want to see what oak does to a spirit without a long wait? A 1L charred oak aging barrel like this one is meant for small experiments with whiskey, rum and wine. It's new and listed at $78.47 by an independent eBay seller.

What can you age in a 1 liter charred barrel?

The title names whiskey, rum and wine. Many people also mellow an unaged spirit or give rum a toasty edge. One liter is about a bottle and a third, so batches stay easy to manage.

• Rinse it, then fill with water to swell the wood before use.
• No stand, bung or spigot is named, so check the listing.
• Taste every few days, because mini barrels age quickly.
• Keep it topped up between batches so the staves don't dry out.
