1 Gallon Charred Oak Aging Barrel, 5 Liter Bourbon Whiskey Wood Barrel

About this barrel

A 1 gallon charred oak aging barrel gives home distillers and cocktail fans a fast way to add color and oak flavor to bourbon, whiskey or rum. This new 5 liter barrel is listed by an independent eBay seller at $150.54.

How fast does a 5 liter charred oak barrel age whiskey?

Faster than a full-size cask. Small barrels have more wood surface per liter, so taste every week or two instead of waiting months.

• Swell it first: fill it with water and let the staves seal before you add spirit.
• Char level: the title says charred but gives no char number, so check the listing or ask the seller.
• Extras: confirm whether a stand, bung or spigot is included.
• Buyer protection: purchases are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

A good pick for anyone who wants small-batch barrel aging on a countertop.
