About this barrel
Wine or whiskey, this 1 gallon oak barrel handles both and is small enough for a kitchen counter. The new 5 liter wooden barrel is listed at $149.11, and the cut-off title suggests it's aimed at home use.
Should a 1 gallon wine barrel be used for whiskey too?
You can, but a barrel picks up flavor from whatever it holds. Many home users keep one barrel for wine and another for spirits. Others age wine first and then whiskey to get a cask-finish effect.
- The full title is cut off, so read the listing for included accessories.
- Check whether the inside is charred, toasted or untreated.
- Fill it with water to swell the staves before adding wine or spirits.
- Covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
