Modern Expressions Mini Oak Barrel Liquor Dispenser w/ Tap, Stand 800mL

About this barrel

A mini oak barrel liquor dispenser at 800mL is a small, low-commitment way to try barrel aging at home. You don't need a big cask. This Modern Expressions listing is marked new and comes with a tap and a stand, so it can sit on a bar cart and pour straight from the barrel.

How fast does a mini oak barrel age whiskey?

A small barrel puts more wood in contact with each ounce of liquid, so flavor builds faster than in a large cask. Taste it often, starting in the first couple of weeks.

• Swell it first: fill it with water and wait until the staves tighten and the leaks stop. Then add spirits.
• Char level: the listing doesn't say, so ask the seller.
• Uses: whiskey, rum, batched cocktails or a small batch of vinegar.
• Size: 0.8 liter, a little more than a standard bottle.
