What should you check before buying a 3L whiskey cask?

Check what comes in the box and how the barrel is finished. Listings with almost identical titles can come with a different stand, spigot or char level.

• Hardware: look for a stand, bung and spigot in the photos.
• Char level: not listed, so ask the seller.
• Leak test: soak it with water for a few days before the first fill.
• Batch size: 3 liters is about four 750 ml bottles.
