Set of 2x1.7L Oak Barrels

About this barrel

This set of two 1.7L oak aging barrels lets you run side-by-side experiments. Put bourbon in one and rum in the other, or age the same spirit for different lengths of time. The set is listed new at $124.97.

How fast does a 1.7 liter barrel age spirits?

Quite fast. A small barrel has more wood surface per liter than a large one, so flavor and color build quickly. Start tasting after the first week or two so the spirit doesn't get too oaky.

• Fill each barrel with water first and let it swell until the leaking stops.
• The title doesn't mention stands, spigots or bungs, so check the listing.
• Char or toast level isn't stated. Ask the seller if that matters to you.
• Covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

A handy pair for home hobbyists, or a gift you can split between two whiskey fans.
