Small Oak Aging Barrel for Whiskey Bourbon Rum Tequila and More 2L

About this barrel

Tequila aged at home, a quicker bourbon finish, a spiced rum: a 2L small oak aging barrel is sized for exactly this kind of tinkering. This new listing is priced at $163.74 by an independent eBay seller, and the title names whiskey, bourbon, rum and tequila as good fits.

How long should spirits sit in a 2L small oak aging barrel?

There's no fixed answer. Small barrels work quickly, so start tasting after a week or two and bottle the spirit when the oak tastes right to you.

• 2 liters is roughly two and a half 750 ml bottles.
• Swell the barrel with water until the staves seal before adding spirit.
• Check the listing for the char level and whether a stand and spigot are included.
• You can reuse the barrel, though each refill usually picks up less flavor.
