5L/1.32Gal Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

A 1.32 gallon oak barrel gives home distillers and spirit fans a small-batch way to add wood character. This new 5L barrel comes from an independent eBay seller.

Is a 5 liter barrel right for small-batch bourbon?

It is a practical size for one bottle batch or a few. Smaller barrels age faster, so check the flavor every week or so instead of waiting months.

• Before filling: swell with water and watch for seepage.
• Spirits: bourbon, whiskey or wine are named in the title.
• Questions for the seller: char level, finish and any included stand.
• Fit: small enough for a shelf, bar cart or cabinet.
