About this barrel
A 10L oak barrel is a good size for aging at home. It holds enough whiskey, brandy, wine or beer to make a real batch, and it's still small enough for a counter or bar cart. An independent eBay seller lists this new cask at $30.42, and it also works as a dispenser keg.
How fast does a 10L oak barrel age spirits?
It's slower than a mini barrel because less wood touches each liter. At that gentler pace, it's easier to taste as you go and pull the spirit before it gets too oaky.
- Swell it first: fill it with water and let the staves tighten before you add anything you care about.
- Check the char: the title doesn't give a toast or char level, so look in the listing or ask the seller.
- Hardware: check the photos to see if a spigot, bung and stand are included.
- Protection: the eBay Money Back Guarantee covers your purchase.
