20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

This 20L vertical wooden wine barrel stands upright instead of lying on a cradle, which saves counter width. At about 5.3 gallons, it suits batch storage of whiskey, rum or brandy. It also gives a slower oak rest than a mini cask.

Is a 20 liter oak barrel good for aging spirits?

Mid-size barrels like this mellow spirits more gradually than 1–5L casks. That gives you more time to sample before the wood dominates.

• Swell the staves with water for a few days before the first fill. Some weeping at first is common with new oak.
• The title says a faucet and bracket are included. Confirm the tap material in the listing.
• Char or toast level isn't listed, so ask the seller if that matters for your recipe.
• A full 20L barrel is heavy, so choose a sturdy spot before filling.
