Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

Simple listing, simple product: a new oak whiskey barrel for $11.99. The seller's title doesn't mention capacity or extras, so this page covers what to confirm before you buy and how to get the most from a fresh barrel once it arrives.

How do you season a new oak whiskey barrel?

Fill it with room-temperature water and let it sit until the wood swells and the drips stop. Then empty it and fill it with your spirit.

• Ask for the volume. Smaller barrels age noticeably faster.
• Check whether a spigot, bung or stand is part of the sale.
• Find out if the inside is charred. Char adds color and vanilla-like notes.
• Not aging anything? It also works as rustic decor.

The purchase is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Read the seller's photos and description closely before you check out.
