10L Barrel Cask Wooden Storager For Wine Brandy Whiskey Beer Dispenser Keg

About this barrel

Getting the first fill right matters more than anything else for how a new 10L oak barrel cask performs, and this one gives you room to learn. It is listed new at $54.38 by an independent eBay seller, with wine, brandy, whiskey and beer named in the title.

How do I prepare a new 10L oak barrel cask before filling?

Fill it with clean water and let it sit. The dry staves expand and close small gaps, and leaks usually slow and stop as the wood soaks.

• Set the barrel on a tray or towel during soaking to catch drips.
• Drain the water, then add your spirit, wine or beer promptly so the wood stays wet.
• Taste early and often, since a small cask can over-oak a batch.
• Check the description for char level and included hardware.
