1 Gallon Oak Aging Barrel 5 Liter With Stand Bung & Spigot Wooden Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

Buying a 1 gallon oak aging barrel open box can be a cheaper way to start aging at home. This 5-liter whiskey barrel comes with a stand, bung and spigot for $89.99, so the title covers everything you need to fill it, let it rest and pour.

How fast does a 1 gallon oak aging barrel work?

Faster than a full-size cask. Small barrels put more of the liquid in contact with wood relative to their volume, so start tasting early and often, beginning within the first couple of weeks.

• Open box: check the listing to see why it was opened and whether all the parts are there.
• Swell first: fill it with water and wait until any seeping stops before adding spirits.
• Char: the title doesn't mention it, so look in the description.
• Uses: whiskey, rum, bourbon or batched cocktails.
