5L American Oak/Timber/Wooden/Wine Barrel Mooshine Free Upgrade to Brass Tap

About this barrel

Step up from mini barrels with this 5L American oak barrel. It's listed brand new at $90.76, and the title mentions a free upgrade to a brass tap. Five liters gives you room for wine, whiskey or moonshine batches that are too big for a 1L or 2L cask.

Does a 5 liter barrel age slower than a mini barrel?

Yes. A bigger barrel has less wood surface for each liter it holds, so aging is slower and easier to control. That makes 5L a good balance between speed and batch size.

• Tap: the title mentions the brass tap upgrade. Check the listing photos to confirm it.
• Uses: wine, spirits, moonshine or a vinegar project.
• Curing: fill it with water and let the staves swell until it stops leaking.
• Char or toast: the title doesn't say. Check the description.
