What can you age in a 3L American oak barrel?

The title says it's for beer, but mini barrels like this are also popular for whiskey, rum, batched cocktails and vinegar. With so little liquid inside, oak flavor builds quickly, so taste early and often.

• Fill it with water first to swell the wood and check for leaks.
• The included stand keeps it level on a counter or bar top.
• Ask about the toast or char level, which isn't listed.
• Confirm that the spigot and bung come with it.

American white oak usually gives a sweeter, vanilla-leaning profile than many European oaks. The order is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
