3L Oak Aging Barrel with Stand, Bung & Spigot - Whiskey, Rum, Tequila Decanter,

About this barrel

Part aging cask, part serving piece, this 3L oak aging barrel with stand, bung and spigot is pitched in its title as a decanter for whiskey, rum and tequila. It's new and priced at $161.49 by an independent eBay seller. At 3 liters it ages faster than a large cask and still holds enough to share.

Can a 3L oak aging barrel with spigot double as a decanter?

Yes. The spigot lets you pour straight from the cask, so the barrel can age a spirit and serve it from the same spot on your bar.

• 3 liters is about four 750 ml bottles, which is enough for a party batch.
• Soak it with water before filling so the spigot joint and staves seal.
• Pour a small taste every week to track how the oak develops.
• The title doesn't mention the char level or finish, so check the listing.
