Vintage Oak Vinegar Mini Barrel - Franjon Cellars Stockton, CA - Wine & Vinegar

About this barrel

California winery collectors, take note: this vintage oak vinegar mini barrel has the Franjon Cellars of Stockton, CA name in its title and is listed for wine and vinegar. It's a used piece priced at $39.99.

Can you still make vinegar in a vintage oak vinegar mini barrel?

Possibly. Making vinegar is more forgiving than aging spirits, but an old barrel may have dried out. Soak it with water first, and ask the seller whether it has a spigot and whether it has held liquid recently.

• Regional interest: a Stockton, CA winery name adds appeal for California wine memorabilia fans.
• Size check: "mini" is the only size clue, so confirm the dimensions in the description.
• Vinegar only: keep a vinegar barrel for vinegar, since the vinegar culture stays in the wood.
• Display option: it looks great in a kitchen or pantry even if you never fill it.
