Vintage LOWENBRAU OAK BEER KEG 1950s SMALL

About this barrel

For breweriana collectors, a vintage Lowenbrau oak beer keg from the 1950s is a satisfying find. This used, small wooden keg carries the brewery name in its title, and it suits a pub-style basement, a beer hall wall or a collection of old brewing gear.

Can a 1950s oak beer keg still hold beer?

Don't assume it can. Old staves dry out and seals wear over the decades, so treat this as a display piece unless the seller says otherwise.

• Study the photos for markings, cracks and the condition of the hoops.
• The size is only described as small, so look for dimensions in the description.
• Ask whether the bung and tap holes are intact.
• Display it out of direct sun to protect the old wood.

A keg like this pairs well with vintage steins, tap handles or brewery signs.
