About this barrel

The handwork is the draw here. This vintage hand carved whiskey dispenser barrel is a 9-inch oak folk art piece with a copper spout, offered used at $32.00. Pieces like this are often one of a kind, so the seller's photos will tell you more than any description.

Is this vintage hand carved whiskey dispenser barrel for serving or display?

The listing calls it a dispenser, but it doesn't give the capacity or say whether it still holds liquid. Many buyers simply display carved barrels on a shelf or back bar.

• Check the carving, hoops and copper spout for cracks or tarnish.
• Ask the seller if it has been tested with water.
• If you plan to use it, soak it first and check for seeps.
• It pairs well with rustic or cabin-style decor.
