wooden barrel keg

About this barrel

The listing title is just “wooden barrel keg,” so use the photos and description to learn the details. Here's what the listing tells you: it's a new wooden barrel keg made of oak, sold for aging, and an independent eBay seller has it at $30.

What can I age in an oak wooden barrel keg?

Whiskey, rum, brandy, wine and even homemade vinegar all take on flavor from oak. The smaller the keg, the faster that happens.

• The capacity isn't in the title, so look for it in the description.
• Check the pictures for a spigot, bung and stand.
• Cure it with water for a few days so the joints seal.
• Use one keg per type of spirit so the flavors don't mix.
