Black Swan Cooperage 12 Gallon Oak Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

Want a large 12 gallon oak whiskey barrel without hunting down a cooper? This Black Swan Cooperage cask holds about 45.4 liters. An eBay seller lists it for parts or not working at $300, so plan on repairs or display use.

What to ask before buying a not-working 12 gallon oak whiskey barrel

Ask why it's listed that way. Leaking staves, loose hoops, missing hardware and dried-out wood each need a different fix and cost.

• Photos: zoom in on the hoops, heads and bung hole.
• Hardware: our data doesn't say whether a spigot or stand is included.
• Dry wood: soaking it in water may tighten the staves, but results vary.
• Peace of mind: covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

Even if it never holds liquid again, a barrel this size makes a solid end table for a rustic bar or man cave.
