Charred Wood Wine Aging Barrel Oak 20 Liter Whiskey Rum Bourbon Scotch Home Bar

About this barrel

A 20 liter oak aging barrel is a good fit for a home bar where you want real wood character without waiting years. This new, charred cask is listed for wine, whiskey, rum, bourbon and scotch. The char layer adds color and those caramel and vanilla notes.

How do I prepare a new 20 liter oak aging barrel?

Fill it with water first and leave it for a few days so the staves swell and the seams seal. Once it stops leaking, drain it and add your spirit. Taste every week or two, because flavor builds faster than you might expect.

• Capacity: 20 liters, a mid-size batch for home aging.
• Char: charred inside. The listing doesn't give a char level, so ask the seller if it matters to you.
• Wood: oak. Check the listing for the species.
• Extras: look at the photos to see whether a stand, bung or spigot is included.
