1000 Oaks Barrel Co. 1L Charred Oak Aging by Barrel, The Whiskey Experience

About this barrel

The 1000 Oaks Barrel Co. 1L charred oak aging barrel, sold as 'The Whiskey Experience,' is listed here in open-box condition for $59.99. One liter is among the smallest aging barrel sizes, which makes it a fun way to try finishing whiskey, bourbon or cocktails at home.

What does open box mean for a 1 liter whiskey aging barrel?

It usually means the package has been opened, but sellers define it differently. Read the condition notes and confirm which parts of the kit are included.

• Speed: a 1L barrel ages quickly, so taste every few days so the oak doesn't take over.
• Charred interior: the title lists charred oak, which typically adds color and sweet, toasty notes.
• Swelling: fill it with water first and let the staves seal.
• Contents: check the photos for accessories such as a stand or spigot.
