Should you drink from a vintage handmade barrel?

Treat it as a display piece first. You can't check the finishes or past contents of an older handmade container, so ask the seller about its history before putting any drink inside.

• Study the photos for cracks, glue repairs or a stiff spigot.
• Size isn't listed, so ask for dimensions.
• It fits cabin, farmhouse or pub-style decor.
• Wear from use can add to the folk art charm.

No two handmade pieces are exactly alike, which is the appeal. The eBay Money Back Guarantee covers your purchase.
