Deep South Barrels 6-1/2" Las Vegas Distillery Whisky Rum Gin Mini Ageing Barrel

About this barrel

Distillery-themed and compact, this mini aging barrel from Deep South Barrels measures 6-1/2 inches and mentions Las Vegas Distillery in its listing title. It's listed new at $17.99 for anyone who wants to try oak-aged whisky, rum or gin.

What should you age in a 6.5 inch oak barrel?

Try a young whisky, a white rum or a barrel-rested gin. There's very little liquid in a barrel this size, so oak flavor shows up quickly. Check the taste often.

• Capacity isn't stated. Look for it in the listing or ask the seller.
• Soak it in water until the staves swell and the leaks stop.
• The char level isn't mentioned, so confirm it if toast matters to you.
• Use it for barrel-aged cocktails like a Negroni or Manhattan.
