5L/1.32Gal Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

With only 5L (1.32 gal) of space, this aging barrel is a compact wooden whiskey barrel for bourbon or wine projects. It is listed new at $77.76 by an independent eBay seller and made of oak.

How fast does a 5L aging barrel work?

Fast. Small barrels have more wood against the liquid than big ones, so flavor can change in weeks rather than months. Taste often and bottle before it gets too oaky.

• Swell a new barrel with water first, then check it for leaks.
• Use a small batch of a spirit you already like for the first fill.
• Look in the listing for the stand, spigot and interior finish, since the title does not say.
• Keep it in a cool spot and top up if the level drops.

It is a handy size for gifts or tasting trials. Covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
