20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

A 20L oak wine barrel with a faucet and bracket gives you a mid-size vessel for aging whiskey, rum or brandy at home. This listing is a new, vertical wooden barrel from an independent eBay seller, priced at $57.30.

Is a 20 liter barrel too big for home aging?

Not necessarily. At 20.0L it falls in the medium size class, so it holds enough for a worthwhile batch while still aging faster than a full-size barrel. Plan to taste your spirit often.

• Swell the barrel with water before filling, as with any new oak barrel.
• Confirm in the listing what the faucet and bracket include.
• Look for char level and interior finish details in the description.
• Decide where the vertical barrel will sit once it is full and heavy.
