5L/1.32Gal Aging Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

A 5L oak aging barrel holds 1.32 gallons, a popular starting size for home aging. This new wooden whiskey barrel is listed for bourbon and wine. It's big enough for a real batch without tying up a whole case of liquor.

How do you start aging bourbon in a 5L oak barrel?

Fill it with water and let the oak swell for a day or more until it stops seeping. Then drain it and add your spirit.

• Taste regularly. A small home barrel ages much faster than a distillery cask.
• The listing doesn't say whether a stand or spigot is included, or what the char level is, so check the listing.
• After the first spirit, reuse it for a second batch or for wine vinegar.
• Keep it away from direct heat to limit evaporation.

It's sold by an independent eBay seller, and your purchase is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
