1.5L Vintage Wood Oak Timber Wine Barrel for Whiskey Rum Port

About this barrel

Port lovers and whiskey drinkers alike can put this 1.5L oak wine barrel to work. It's a new cask with a vintage timber look, listed at $88.04. The word vintage describes the style here, since the condition is listed as new.

What's a 1.5L oak wine barrel best used for?

It's a step up from the common one-liter mini. It still ages quickly and holds two standard 750 ml bottles. Try it for port, rum or whiskey, or to finish a batched cocktail.

• Swell it with water before the first fill.
• The title doesn't mention char or toast, so check the description.
• See whether a stand, bung or tap shows up in the photos.
• Taste often, since small oak barrels work fast.
