Antique Vintage Wooden Keg Whiskey Barrel with Bung Hole Heavy Oak Barrel Small

About this barrel

Looking for an antique wooden whiskey barrel keg with real weight to it? An eBay seller is offering this small, heavy oak barrel with a bung hole, used, for $64.90. Its age-worn look suits a rustic shelf, a back bar or a study.

What is the bung hole on an old oak keg for?

The bung hole is the opening used to fill and empty a barrel. It's usually sealed with a wooden or silicone stopper. On a vintage piece it's also part of the authentic look, so check whether a bung comes with it.

• Capacity: the title doesn't give it, so look for dimensions or volume in the listing.
• Hoops: check the photos for rust or loose bands.
• Use: plan on decor unless the seller confirms it holds liquid.
• Weight: the seller calls it heavy, so think about where it will sit.
