Antique 1933 Gerard Lafitte French Oak Barrel Decanter Set Tonnellerie d'Art

About this barrel

The title dates this antique Gerard Lafitte French oak barrel decanter set to 1933, and it carries the Tonnellerie d'Art name. It's listed used at $75 and would suit a bar cart, a sideboard or a collection of vintage barware.

What should you check on an antique barrel decanter set?

Whether it's complete, and what shape it's in. The word set suggests more than one piece, but the title doesn't say what's included.

• Count the pieces in the photos and ask the seller what comes with it.
• Look for cracks, dried-out wood or missing stoppers and spouts.
• The title doesn't give the size. Check the listing for dimensions.
• With an old French oak decanter, assume it's for display unless the seller says otherwise.

A handsome period piece for oak and barware collectors, and it's covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
